The biaxial stretching process endows PET film with comprehensive properties far beyond ordinary plastic film, which is also the fundamental reason why it can span dozens of industries:
Extremely high mechanical strength
The tensile strength is 5-10 times that of ordinary PE film and 3 times that of BOPP film. It has good stiffness, tear resistance, impact resistance, thin and tough, suitable for high-speed printing, lamination, and die-cutting processing.
Excellent optical performance
The light transmittance can reach over 90%, with high glossiness and low haze. The haze of high-end optical grade PET film can be as low as 0.8% or less, making it an ideal substrate for display, packaging, and window products.
Wide temperature resistance range
Long term use temperature -70 ℃~120 ℃, short-term tolerance to high temperature of 150 ℃, melting point of about 255 ℃. It is one of the core materials for food flexible packaging, which is resistant to both low temperature freezing and high temperature steaming.
Good barrier performance
The barrier properties against oxygen, water vapor, and aroma are much better than PE and PP films, which can effectively extend the shelf life of food while retaining the aroma of the contents. It is suitable for packaging dry goods, snacks, and steamed foods.
Stable electrical insulation performance
The insulation performance remains excellent at high frequencies, with low dielectric loss and high breakdown voltage resistance. It is a classic insulation material for motors, transformers, FPC circuit boards, and electronic components.
Good chemical stability
Resistant to most organic solvents, weak acids and bases, resistant to oil and corrosion, except for strong bases and some halogenated hydrocarbons, most chemicals cannot corrode, suitable for complex industrial environments.
Strong processing adaptability
Supporting various secondary processes such as printing, lamination, aluminum plating, coating, die-cutting, and heat transfer printing, hundreds of functional films such as release film, protective film, and aluminum plating film can be derived through surface treatment.
