1. PP film: the "beauty responsibility" of packaging and the main force of high temperature resistance


(1) Biaxially oriented polypropylene film (BOPP)

This is the most commonly used PP film category in the packaging industry and also the preferred substrate for printing surface layers:


Core advantages: high transparency, high gloss, good stiffness, high color reproduction in printing, excellent moisture resistance;

Typical applications: outer packaging bags for snacks such as biscuits, pastries, and candies, cigarette wrap, adhesive label materials, adhesive tape base films, and printed surface layers for composite packaging.

Due to the inability of ordinary BOPP to be directly heat sealed, it usually needs to be combined with CPP and PE films to form a composite structure of "external printing+internal heat sealing".


(2) Cast polypropylene film (CPP)

The "heat sealing responsibility" of the PP family is divided into general grade and steaming grade:


Core advantages: Good heat sealing performance, high temperature resistance, oil resistance, excellent transparency, and can withstand high temperature sterilization at 121 ℃ for steaming and cooking grade;

Typical applications: Inner heat sealing layer of composite packaging bags, high-temperature steamed food bags, packaging of meat and soy products, microwave heated food packaging.


2. PE film: the "universal base" for packaging and the main force for low temperature


(1) Low density polyethylene blown film (LDPE/LLDPE)

The PE film category with the highest production and strongest universality:


Core advantages: low cost, excellent heat sealing performance, good flexibility, low temperature resistance, and good moisture resistance;

Typical applications: Supermarket shopping bags, food preservation bags, express packaging bags, protective films, ordinary heat sealing layers for composite packaging, and simple packaging for frozen food.


(2) Cast Polyethylene Film (CPE)

Common PE film categories for mid to high end packaging:


Core advantages: uniform thickness, high transparency, soft hand feel, good low-temperature heat sealing performance, high heat sealing strength;

Typical applications: clothing packaging bags, high-end food packaging inner layers, wrapping films, tissue packaging, packaging scenes that require a soft touch.
